We all are lazy and it’s OK.

Let’s just make peace with it. I’m a makeup freak but there are some days I have no energy to make myself look human, let alone create a whole LEwK~*

Thankfully, there’s Glossier.

One of my favorite brands ever has been killing it for years with “no-makeup makeup” and simple-yet-effective skin care. A brand for everyone, Millennials have been the ones to fall hard for Glossier’s minimal packaging, awesome customer service and quirky, cool-kid vibe which are only magnified by the brand’s seriously great products. I didn’t think I could be more impressed until Glossier launched two eye products that will take your look to the next level with minimal effort. And what can be more Millennial than that? Slap on some concealer and let’s get to it.

Lidstar is a liquid, iridescent eyeshadow that comes in six dreamy shades. These babies give more glow than color, which is perfect for mornings or whenever you’re in a rush. To apply, swipe on with the wand and dab to blend with your finger. THAT’S IT. If you want to give it some extra oopmh, layer the colors or blend it with a brush. No matter what, you have an eye look that would seem like it took the better part of 20 minutes in less than 30 seconds. The formula dries almost instantly and doesn’t crease, even after hours of wear. I have no idea what black magic is used but I’m not questioning it. It’s not just for lazy days, either. It can be super glam. Celeb makeup artist Sir John used Lidstar on one of his clients at the 2018 Grammys. Her name is Beyoncé.

Lash Slick

I heard Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss (QUEEN) on two separate beauty podcasts talking about Glossier’s attempts at formulating a mascara. She said the brand will never make anything unless they know it’s better than what’s out there. More than 200 formulas later, Glossier released Lash Slick in early May. A fiber mascara, it doesn’t coat the lashes with sticky pigment but the fibers coat the lashes and build upon themselves. It only comes in one shade but, to be fair, Lash Slick will not give you crazy, dark, Lamb Chop-looking lashes with tons of drama. However, it will make your eyelashes look darker, longer, separated and almost like you had a lash tint and lift. (For the lucky ones, you might look like you got lash extensions.) Glossier’s thing is “You, but better” and that’s exactly what this mascara does. Days I want drama, I apply Lash Slick, let them dry, curl them gently then throw on an extra coat of Lash Slick or another mascara. (Lancôme Monsieur Big, please.)

The biggest selling point for Lash Slick? It doesn’t move. I am very oily around my eyes. Combine that with heat and humidity and my mascara will start moving all over and I look like I should be rummaging through your neighbor’s garbage cans. This smudging never happens with this mascara. In fact, it didn’t even come off during my first cleanse with a makeup-melting balm. It only came off with warm water.

At the end of the day, we’re all a lil’ lazy. But with Glossier and some girl power, we’ll get through this together 🙂
