Rosemary Boland, longtime president of the Scranton Federation of Teachers, stirred up a hornet’s nest of criticism recently when she cited  “black,” brown” and “immigrant” children in the city district who, she claimed, come from households that might not be observing COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Boland capped things off by saying these kids “are not going home to the Donna Reed home.” Boland claims her words were taken out of context. I’m not so certain.
